Hunterworks 2011-2020 Can Am Commander/Max 1000 Belt

The Commander 1000 has enough torque to punish a belt and enough weight to keep it from ever getting a break, especially if you tow, plow or run larger tires. This is the Hunterworks USA-made replacement, built with stronger cord and a compound that holds up to more heat than the belt Can-Am ships.

Fitment

2011-2020 Can-Am Commander 1000 and Commander MAX 1000. Hunterworks part number HW 521KM.

Important: the 2021-2025 Commander 1000 is a different machine underneath and takes the HW CAX3M instead. Check your model year before you order — this is the single most common mix-up on the Commander, and we would rather you call than guess.

If you are going through more than one belt a season on a Commander, the belt is usually not the root cause. Check three things with the cover off: that the CVT intake and exhaust ducting is intact and sealed, that the sheave faces are not glazed, and that the clutches are actually in alignment. A belt being twisted by misaligned clutches wears out on geometry, not on power, and no belt brand fixes that.
