Hunterworks 2013-2017 Can Am Maverick/Max 1000 Belt

The first-generation Maverick 1000 is still one of the better-driving machines Can-Am has built, but the parts shelf for it has thinned out considerably. Fix'N Offroad still stocks the Hunterworks USA-made CVT belt for it, built with stronger cord and a compound that tolerates more heat than the original.

Fitment

2013-2017 Can-Am Maverick 1000 and Maverick MAX 1000. Hunterworks part number HW 521KM.

This is the same Hunterworks belt used on the 2011-2020 Commander and Commander MAX. It does not fit the Maverick X3 or the Maverick Trail and Sport — those use the HW CAX3M.

On a machine this age, a new belt is often only half the job. Ten-plus years of belt dust packs into the CVT housing, the sheave faces glaze over, and the ducting that pulls cool air through the clutch cracks or falls off entirely. Any one of those will shorten the life of a brand new belt, so pull the cover and actually look before you close it up. Glazed sheaves can be cleaned with scotch-brite and brake cleaner; cracked ducting needs replacing.

The Can-Am secondary belt change tool spreads the secondary so you can get the belt out without prying on the clutch faces with a screwdriver, which is how sheaves get scarred.
