Hunterworks 2018-2025 Can Am Maverick Trail/Sport 800/1000/1000R Belt

The Maverick Trail and Maverick Sport are narrower and lighter than an X3, which fools people into thinking the CVT gets an easy life. In practice these machines spend their time on tight trails at low speed — low ground speed means low belt speed, low belt speed means poor airflow through the clutch housing, and heat is what actually kills belts. This is the Hunterworks USA-made replacement, built to take more of it than the stock belt.

Install notes

One important detail on this platform: the Hunterworks Can-Am belt change tool in the two-roller configuration fits 2019-2025 Maverick Sport and Trail, but it does not fit the 1000R, which uses a three-roller secondary. If you own a 1000R, order the three-roller bell. Not sure which secondary you have? Call us and we will tell you how to check in about thirty seconds.

While the clutch cover is off, clean the belt dust out of the sheaves and confirm the CVT ducting is seated and clear. Break the new belt in for the first 25 miles or so — no full-throttle pulls, no towing, vary the speed — so it seats evenly in the sheaves.
