Polaris Primary Clutch Spider Nut Tool

You cannot take a Polaris primary clutch apart without removing the spider nut, and you cannot remove the spider nut with anything you already own. This is the tool for the job — a new gusseted, higher heat-treated spider nut tool built to take the torque these nuts are on at without flexing or rounding off.

Install notes

Spider nuts come off tight, and the gusset on this version is there because the older, thinner tools flex under that load. Hold the primary with a clutch holder before you put a breaker bar on it — letting the engine take the load is how starter gears and crankshafts get damaged. Once the spider is off you can get to the weights, the bushings and the spring. There is an install video that shows the sequence.
