Polaris Primary Spider Tool

This is the 3/4" drive tool that removes the spider from a Polaris primary clutch — the step that has to happen before you can get to weights, bushings or the spring. It covers most of the Polaris lineup, with some important exceptions listed below.

Fitment

All Polaris Ranger, RZR and General models except the following:

• Does NOT work on Turbo RZR
• Does NOT work on 2019 and newer Ranger XP 1000
• Does NOT work on any SOHC Ranger 1000

Install notes

Hold the primary clutch with a proper holder before applying torque — using the engine to resist a breaker bar is how starter drives and crank threads get ruined. Fit the tool squarely on the spider before you load it; a partially engaged tool will round the spider and turn a one-hour job into a much worse one. On reassembly, torque to the factory specification rather than by feel. There is an install video covering the process.
