(Hunterworks Alignment Tool) 2017 Polaris Ranger XP 1000

If your 2017 Ranger XP 1000 is eating belts faster than it should, clutch alignment is the first thing worth checking and the thing almost nobody checks. The Hunterworks CAT161K alignment tool measures the spacing and the offset between the crankshaft and the transmission input shaft, so you can confirm the primary and secondary are actually running true before a new belt goes in.

Install notes

Pull the clutch cover and both clutches, then set the tool on the crank and transmission shafts. Spacing that is off, or shafts that are not parallel, twist the belt every revolution — which is why a misaligned machine will destroy a brand new belt in a few hundred miles and give you no warning that anything is wrong. Check alignment any time you pull the engine or transmission, and any time you are on your second premature belt failure.
