Install notes

While the clutch cover is off, do the rest of the job properly. Blow the belt dust out of the sheaves, check the clutch faces for glazing, and make sure the CVT intake and exhaust ducting is seated and clear — a blocked or disconnected duct is the single most common reason a brand new belt does not last. Break a new belt in gently for the first twenty to thirty miles rather than loading it hard straight away, and keep the old belt under the seat as a trail spare.
