Hunterworks CVT Belt - Polaris Sportsman 550 / 850 / 1000

The Sportsman is the ATV a lot of people actually depend on — for food plots, fence lines, hunting and hauling — and that means short trips under load at low speed, which is the duty cycle that puts the most heat into a CVT belt. This is the Hunterworks USA-made replacement, built with stronger cord and a higher-temperature compound than the belt Polaris ships.

Install notes

Most Sportsman belt failures are heat failures, and most heat problems are airflow problems. Keep the CVT intake snorkel clear and the exhaust duct attached, and blow the belt dust out of the housing whenever the cover is off — packed belt dust acts as insulation and keeps the heat in.

If the machine has high hours and has gotten slow to engage or shudders on takeoff, that is a worn primary talking, not a bad belt. The Duraclutch R-Series for the Sportsman 450, 500 and 570 covers the smaller machines; call us about the 850 and 1000.
