How to Change the Drive Belt on a CF Moto U10 Pro (and Make the New One Last)

Changing the drive belt on a CF Moto UForce U10 Pro isn't hard — with the right tools it's a driveway job, and knowing how keeps a blown belt from ending a ride. Here's the process in plain terms, plus what kills U10 belts early.

The Job, Start to Finish

1. Pull the clutch cover. Remove the housing bolts and set the cover aside. Take a photo of the belt routing before anything comes apart.

2. Open the secondary. Thread the belt change tool into the secondary clutch to spread the sheaves — this takes the tension off so the belt lifts out by hand. No pry bars; prying chips sheave faces and eats belts.

3. Inspect while you're in there. Check the sheave faces for glazing or scoring, and blow the dust out of the housing. If you're pulling the primary for a deeper service, use the correct-thread puller — never an impact on a bolt that isn't made for it.

4. Set the new belt. Route it exactly as the old one sat, arrows in the direction of rotation if marked, then back the tool out and let the secondary take up the slack.

5. Button up and break it in. Cover back on, then give the new belt 15-20 miles of easy, varied throttle before you load it hard. Break-in seats the belt to the sheaves and pays you back in belt life all season.

What Kills U10 Pro Belts Early

Three habits cook belts: lugging in high range at low speed (use low range for work and technical crawling), holding the brake against the throttle, and running a glazed belt after one overheat event.
