The Polaris Sportsman is the ATV that does everything, and its CVT takes a beating in mud, snow and low-range work. Short trips under load at low speed are the hardest duty cycle there is on a drive belt, which is why Sportsman owners go through belts faster than side-by-side owners do.
Fix'N Offroad carries the Hunterworks USA-made HW-851KG CVT belt, which per Hunterworks covers the 2010-2025 Sportsman 850 (EPS, High Lifter, Touring), 2009-2014 Sportsman XP 850, 2015-2025 Sportsman 1000 (EPS, XP, Touring XP, 1000 S) and 2011-2014 Sportsman 550. It is built with stronger cord and a higher-temperature compound than the belt that came on the machine. We also stock SuperATV G-Boost heavy-duty belts for the Sportsman in Extreme Badass, Mud Monster and Sand Storm compounds.
Two parts fix more Sportsman belt problems than a new belt does. The 2017-2025 Scrambler/Sportsman secondary roller kit replaces the plastic pucks that wear square and kill the backshift, and the Scrambler/Sportsman primary clutch puller (2017-2021 850 and 1000) gets the primary off without damaging the crankshaft threads the way a wrong-size puller will.
